We continue to hear today from the visit on Tuesday of Lieutenant Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti as she took a tour of the Okaw Area Vocational Center. Vandalia Superintendent of Schools Rich Well talked about how financial cuts have certainly hurt the district over the past several years.
But, Well stated with their partnership with about a dozen other schools, they are able to keep the Okaw program going and viable. Sanguinetti says she is a big fan of vocational programs and gave her own experience.
The Lt. Governor stated programs such as the Okaw Area Vocational Center are something she and Governor Bruce Rauner would like to see throughout the state.
