(Flushing, NY) — The Royals are World Series champions for the first time in 30 years. Kansas City scored two runs in the ninth and five more in the 12th to pull out a 7-2 win over the Mets in Game Five of the Fall Classic. The Royals clinched their first title since 1985.

(Flushing, NY) — Royals catcher Salvador Perez is the Most Valuable Player of the World Series. Perez hit .364 with three runs and an RBI in Kansas City’s five-game win over the Mets. He batted .259 with four homers and eight RBI during the postseason.
