(Chicago, IL) — Mayor Emanuel and Governor Rauner, who once shared high-priced bottles of wine at Rauner’s Montana vacation home, are spitting fire at each other these days over the state budget mess. The fight escalated today when Emanuel said Rauner should “stop name-calling and just do your job.” Rauner kept up his criticism of Emanuel’s tax-laden budget and his refusal to back the governor’s push for anti-union reforms. At a north side butcher shop, Rauner showed reporters a piece of fish he bought, saying he was sending it to Emanuel. It’s a twist on an Emanuel stunt years ago when he sent a dead fish to a campaign pollster.
