There are several events going on today and tonight in Vandalia in connection with Halloween—
The annual Downtown Vandalia Trick or Treat gets underway this morning at 10 am with story time at Evans Public Library, then trick or treating downtown from 10:30 to 12:30. There are over 30 businesses participating in the trick or treat. There will be a full list available at the library and you can also find one on our website and on our Facebook page. Then, there will be a costume contest at Family Video beginning at 12:30 pm, with age groups 0 to 4 years, 5-9 years, and 10-13 years
Vandalia Rehab and Health Care Center will have their “Heroic Halloween Celebration” going on from 4 pm to 7 pm today. There will be food and treats, children’s games and activities. You can also get your picture taken with your favorite super hero.
The “Hospital of Horrors” The Haunted House at old Washington School on South 8th street will be open for their final night tonight from 7:30 pm to 11 pm. The cost is $6 per person. All proceeds go to the Vandalia Swimming Pool renovations
