Harvest season is nearly complete as we hear in the weekly crop report. State Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener says field are definitely ready for rain, but the dry weather has given producers a chance to get most of the crops out of the ground.
93 percent of soybeans in the state have been harvested. 84 percent of the winter wheat crop has now been planted. Statewide average topsoil moisture declined to 14 percent very short, 45 percent short, 38 percent adequate and 3 percent surplus.
