Norma Jean Manuel, 80, of Altamont, died at 3:38 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Private family graveside services will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Moccasin, IL with Pee Wee Denton officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jean was born on Monday, April 15, 1935 in Loogootee, IL to William and Agnes (Townsend) Lampe. She married Marion ‘Bud’ Manuel in 1966 in Altamont. In addition to raising her family she worked in the Garment Industry and at Fedders in Effingham.
She is survived by her husband Bud of Altamont; daughters, Susan Lindsey of Pooler, Georgia and Marna Murray and her husband Bill of Altamont; son, Trevis Manuel of New Hampshire; brothers, Richard Lampe and his wife Anna of Arthur and Charles Lampe and his wife Pansy of Centralia; sister, Virginia Skjolaas and her husband Merle of Stoughton, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, Nathan (Marcie) Flowers, Stephanie (Travis) Gerrald, Nikki (Toby) Draves, Greg Lindsey, Kayla (Brandon) Childress, Brock (Jenna) Murray, Phillip Burrous, and Stacy (Mike) Pajak and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Flowers; brother, Roy Lampe; sisters, Martha Mitchell and Ruth Lampe.
