Dean Kestner, 73, of St. Elmo, died at 2:40 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2015 at Aperion Care of St. Elmo.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, Brownstown with Rev. Olen M. Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Pilcher Cemetery, rural Brownstown. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Memorials are requested to be made to the First Baptist Church Sign Offering. Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown is assisting the family with arrangments.
Dean was born on Wednesday, January 7, 1942 in Linter, Illinois to Onda and Bernice (Ashenfelter) Kestner. He married Deanna Gough on July 9, 1960 in Cerro Gordo. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Brownstown where he served as a deacon. During his working career he had been employed in construction with the Laborers’ Local #1197, Brownstown and in Tuscola. He retired from JC Logistics were he had been a truck driver and had also been a bus driver for the Brownstown Community Unit School District.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Deanna Kester of Brownstown; grandsons, Timothy Dean Donnals and his wife Brittany of Tuscola, Kevin Donnals and his wife Callie of Brownstown; 6 great grandchildren, Bryan, Jordan, Draven, Aiden, LeLynd, and Savaiah; son-in-law, Timothy Allen Donnals of Farina; mother-in-law, Margaret Gough of Brownstown and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Shelly D. Donnals, 7 brothers and sisters and father-in-law, Bill Gough.
