(St.Louis, MO) — Robby Fabbri scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period as the Blues edged the Oilers 3-1 in the season opener at Scottrade Center. Vladimir Tarasenko tallied the tying goal in the second, while Troy Brouwer added an insurance goal in the final minute. Brian Elliott made 23 saves in the win. The pregame festivities for the season opener included a huge banner over Center Ice reading “Heartland of Hockey.” The Blues embark on a six-game road trip starting tomorrow in Minnesota.
