Fayette County Sheriff Chris Smith is warning drivers to remember to slow down in school zones. Sheriff Smith says this has been an issue really throughout Fayette County.
And, Sheriff Smith says it would just take one accident to turn the situation tragic.
As the Sheriff mentioned, the speed limit in school zones is 20 miles per hour while children are present. And, the penalty can be pretty steep—you could lose your driving privileges for two months.
