Last month was the 9th warmest September on record in Illinois. State Climatologist Jim Angel is confirming what we all know, September felt more like July than the start of fall.
Average statewide precipitation for September came in at 3.4 inches. That is a little more than normal, but some areas like western and far southern Illinois didn’t get as much rain as the rest of the state.
