(Urbana, IL) — Governor Rauner is apologizing as the state continues to deal with a budget crisis. “The Champaign News-Gazette” reports the governor said he was sorry Friday during a dedication of the Chez Family Foundation Center for Wounded Veterans in Higher Education by the University of Illinois. Rauner said it’s outrageous that Illinois doesn’t have a spending plan and that the university and other institutions are suffering as a result.
