(Normal, IL) — Union members at the Mitsubishi plant in Normal will vote tomorrow on whether to authorize a strike if contract talks fail to produce an agreement. Negotiations continue at the plant, where production is expected to cease at the end of November. The current contract expired Monday, but has been extended through the end of the day tomorrow. The plant closing is expected to mean about a thousand layoffs, but a new contract could have an impact on the terms of those dismissals.
