(Undated) — A decision could be made soon on who will replace Darin LaHood in the state Senate. The Peoria “Journal Star” reports the selection committee is narrowing the pool of applicants and the vacancy could be filled by late this week. LaHood left the Illinois Senate after being elected to replace Aaron Schock as the U.S. Representative from the state’s 18th Congressional District. Schock resigned after federal investigators began looking into his spending habits while in office.
