An Illinois House Committee is advancing a 3.8 billion dollar spending bill. The money includes funds for several areas including Breast Cancer screenings, addiction and substance abuse services, housing for Veterans and it authorizes payouts for Lottery winners. State Representative Mike Tryon says while these are all worthy causes, the state just can’t afford it.
The Illinois Senate has already passed the bill. Governor Bruce Rauner has said he will veto the measure.
