(Springfield, IL) — Governor Bruce Rauner’s administration is facing a lawsuit after announcing earlier this month it will stop payments for medical claims from state employees. The suit was filed last week in St. Clair County Circuit Court by a group of unions led by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The suit indicates Rauner administration’s decision violates the contract between the state and the union. The suit seeks a preliminary injunction to be issued from Circuit Judge Robert LeChien forcing a restart of the health insurance payments.
