Jhonny Peralta added an RBI single in the third to give St.Louis a 4-0 lead. Carlos Martinez picked up his 14th win as the Cardinals avoided a three-game sweep.

(Chicago, IL) — Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is dealing with a sprained left thumb. He was hurt tagging out Anthony Rizzo, who was trying to score on a fly ball in the eighth inning. Molina stayed in the game for the half-inning, but was pinch-hit for in the ninth. He’ll have an MRI today.
