(St. Louis, MO) — A branch of Ameren Corporation has been given the green light to build a one-hundred-50-million-dollar electric transmission line in northwest Illinois. The Illinois Commerce Commission has approved plans for the 46-mile, high-voltage line from Peoria to Galesburg. This is one of three new transmission lines Ameren is building in Missouri and Illinois to expand and strengthen the electric grid in the midwest. Ratepayers in the region will be charged for the Peoria to Galesburg line, which Ameren expects to be in operation in 2018.
