(Springfield, IL) — One-hundred-25-million-dollars fewer are being produced for state programs in Illinois. For the first time since 2009, the Illinois Lottery saw revenues fall last year. The lottery has struggled since the state hired a private manager in 2010 to boost sales and profits. That company consistently failed to meet profit projections and has been assessed penalties for those shortfalls. Currently, the state budget impasse means the lottery is unable to pay out prizes of more than 25-thousand-dollars.
