(Springfield, IL) — One of the last havens for public smoking could be eliminated by a tweak of the state’s ban. The change makes it clear that the law banning public smoking applies to any space with a floor and ceiling, regardless of whether the walls are permanent. That has bar owners scratching their heads, wondering if the beer gardens they set up to accommodate smokers when the original law was passed are now off-limits for smokers.
