(Milwaukee, WI) — Jason Heyward’s two-run homer in the top of the 10th lifted the Cardinals to a 3-1 win over the Brewers. Jhonny Peralta smacked an RBI single for St.Louis, which became the first team with 90 wins this season. The Redbirds also increased their lead on the Pirates in the NL Central to three games. Kevin Siegrist earned the win in relief of Carlos Martinez, who struck out nine over eight innings of one-run ball. Trevor Rosenthal logged his 44th save.

(Milwaukee, WI) — Matt Holliday is back with the Cardinals. The outfielder was activated from the disabled list before last night’s game against the Brewers. Holliday did not start, with Stephen Piscotty in left instead. Holliday missed 41 games after being sidelined with a strained right quad on July 30th.
