(Springfield, IL) — Members of the state Legislature are pushing a bill that would provide funding for social services even without an operating budget. The Illinois Senate voted yesterday to approve a measure that would allow the state to pay one-point-eight-billion-dollars to agencies that provide services to the elderly, the disabled and the poor. The measure now moves to the Illinois House.
