(Chicago, IL) — Two lottery winners are suing the Illinois Lottery for not paying them their prize money. The federal lawsuit filed yesterday by Rhonda Rasche and Danny Chasteen claims the lottery committed fraud by continuing to sell tickets even though Illinois law prohibits prizes of over 25-thousand-dollars be awarded without a state budget. Rasche’s winnings amount to 50-thousand-dollars while Chasteen won 250-thousand. The suit alleges that more than 288-million-dollars is owed since the new fiscal year began in July.
