(Chicago, IL) — A federal judge has decided not to hold the state of Illinois in contempt for failing to obey her order to pay for care for the disabled. Attorneys for the Rauner administration told the judge they were working to satisfy a federal consent decree by processing process payments to agencies that provide care. That consent decree requires that the state payments be made even though there’s no state budget in place.
