Leah Karen May, 76, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at Hospice LaGrange, LaGrange, GA.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Fr. Marek Kasperczuk officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time. A private family burial will follow services. Memorials may be made to the donors’ choice.
Karen was born in Taylorville, Illinois on Sunday, March 12, 1939 the daughter of Glen and Leah (Ward) Batty. She was retired from Quandt Grain Co., and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, a former member of St. Clare Catholic Church in Altamont, IL. She was a former member of several other organizations such as, Peachstate Allegro Bay Campers, Red Hat Society, and of several Pinochle Card Clubs.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Bernard May, children and their spouses; Cynthia and Mike Fritcher, of St. Simons Island, GA, Jeffrey and Sandra May of Lake Jackson, TX., Julie and Brett White of St. Peter, Il., Ellen and Jeff Koehler of LaGrange, 13 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sisters, Connie (Dale) LeVault and Martha (Larry) Fowler, sister-in-law, Vivian Batty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Rosemary Batty and brothers, Robert Batty and Bill Batty, and a great grandson, Hudsen Lauwers.
