September usually means the start of cooler weather. But, the month is not starting out that way, as we’ll see the start of our hottest snap in quite some time. We do have a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms for today with a high of 89 and mostly clear skies tonight with a low of 69. We are looking at the rest of this week, thru the weekend and thru the Labor Day holiday on Monday with highs up to 90 and lows just down to 70 at night. It will be midweek next week before we get a break from the heat. But, at least according to some extended forecasts, this could be our last big hot period of this year, with predicted the temperatures for the rest of this month much cooler for the area.
