Two Vandalia churches are offering free events for the public this week.
Bethel Baptist Church will be holding their 5th annual Back to School Bash this evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at Rogier Park in Vandalia. The event will include food (pork burgers, hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn and chips), a 62 foot inflatable obstacle course, a bounce house, several games and music. The event is free and open to all in the community.
First United Methodist Church will be celebrating this Sunday evening. As part of their celebration for the opening of their new Family Life Center, First United Methodist Church will be hosting a concert by the Sidewalk Prophets on Sunday evening from 7 pm to 9 pm on their back parking lot—if it rains the location would be the Junior High gymnasium. The new Family Life Center is scheduled to be open and they are planning to give tours of the new building on Sunday afternoon and evening before the concert. The event is open to all and is free to attend.
