(Springfield, IL) — Universities in Chicago are taking steps to prevent and respond to sexual assaults on campus. Governor Bruce Rauner signed the bill late last week, which requires colleges to provide confidential advisers to sexual assault victims. School leaders must also give victims additional safety options such as changing class schedules or campus housing accommodations. The law is expected to take effect next year.
