As the school year is underway, so are general state aid payments to school districts. In his budget report this month, Vandalia Superintendent of Schools Rich Well says the despite no overall budget being in place for the state, they received their first payment for the year.
And in addition to the general state aid payments coming in this year at the 92% rate, the school district should also be receiving some additional money as well.
While the state looks to be starting off the year right with general state aid payments being dispersed on time, there is still concern over continued issues with categorical payments being received by school districts. And we will talk with Well about that tomorrow on Newscenter.
