(Chicago, IL) — Governor Bruce Rauner has signed a wide-ranging law enforcement reform bill that bans chokeholds and sets guidelines for the use of body and dashboard cameras. The measure also would require officers to issue a receipt to any individual who is frisked or patted down but not arrested. That receipt would detail the reason for the stop, the person’s race and a list of any contraband police confiscate. The new law also tacks on five-dollars to traffic and speeding tickets to help pay for police cameras.
