Crops in most areas of the state enjoyed a little rainfall this past week. Some parts of Illinois were seeing some dry fields, so the rain was welcome in some parts of the state. State Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener gives us an update on the corn crop.
89 percent of soybeans are blooming and 70 percent are setting pods. Average statewide topsoil moisture now stands at 12 percent short, 76 percent adequate and 12 percent surplus.
