(Springfield, IL) — A group of state lawmakers wants to keep the Illinois State Museum open. The Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability approved a recommendation yesterday to keep the museum and other related facilities open despite operating without a budget. Governor Rauner says he will shut down the buildings as a cost-saving measure.
