July was cooler and wetter than normal in Illinois. State Climatologist Jim Angel says the statewide average temperature last month was 74.4 degrees—that’s almost one degree below normal. But, not quite as cool as the record setting July of 2014 when the average temp was just 70 degrees.
Forecaster say August might be more of the same, with cooler temperatures and more rain—especially in southern Illinois.
