(St.Louis, MO) — The Cardinals scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to rally for a 9-8 win over the Rockies. Jhonny Peralta laced a game-tying, two-run single, and Greg Garcia drew a bases-loaded walk to score decisive run. Matt Carpenter went 4-for-5 with two homers, four runs and four RBI to help St.Louis stop a two-game skid. Carlos Villanueva earned the win.

(St.Louis, MO) — The Cardinals added some pop to their lineup with the acquisition of outfielder Brandon Moss. They got the 31-year-old slugger from the Indians for left-handed pitching prospect Rob Kaminsky. Moss hit just .217 for Cleveland this season, but belted 15 homers and drove in 50 runs.

(St.Louis, MO) — Cardinals left fielder Matt Holliday is back on the disabled liSt. He re-injured his right quad running in the first inning of Wednesday’s game against the Reds. It’s the same injury that’s already caused him to miss 31 games. The newly-acquired Brandon Moss is expected to fill the void.

(Milwaukee, WI) — Anthony Rizzo hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the eighth as the Cubs cut down the Brewers, 5-2, in Milwaukee. Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber plated insurance runs in the ninth for the Cubs in the opener of the four-game set. Rafael Soriano earned his first win in relief. Hector Rondon secured his 14th save. The second of the four-game series is tonight.
