Terry “Joe” Belcher, 55, of Patoka died suddenly Wednesday, July 29, 2015. He was born on September 26, 1959 in Vandalia, IL, the son of Gale & Jean (Cain) Belcher. He married Jan (Jolliff) Belcher on June 21, 1990. She still survives in Patoka.
In addition to his wife Joe is survived by his son Nick Belcher; daughter Abby Belcher both of Patoka, Il; father Gale Belcher; brother Allen (Janice) Belcher; sisters Cheryl (Clyde) Barnes, Teresa (Mike) Thalman all from Patoka; mother-in- law Betty Sanders of Patoka, Il; brother-in-law-Lindy (Dee) Jolliff of Nashville, Il; sister-in-law Christy (Dale) Hohman; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother Jean Belcher, father-in-law Herb Jolliff, nephew Greg Hassebrock, and great niece Stormi Jolliff.
Joe was a construction worker with East St. Louis Union Local 100. He was a proud laborer of a union for 35 years of service. He was lifetime member of Patoka Masonic Lodge 613 and a board member of Pope Township. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and hunting, but most of all he was a devoted husband and father. He loved spending time with his family. Joe’s easy going, good nature, and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka with Pastor Dave Rogers officiating. Interment will be in the Pratt cemetery in Patoka. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the funeral service at Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka. Memorials may be made to Family’s Wishes or Pratt Cemetery.
