(Springfield, IL) — Illinois is the first state in America to ban state money from being invested into companies that boycott the country of Israel. Governor Rauner signed a law yesterday that requires state pension systems to terminate direct investment in companies that participate in the Boycott, Sanctions, Divestment movement targeting Israel. The bill was easily passed by both the House and the Senate before becoming a law.
