(Chicago, IL) — The family of Rod Blagojevich is disappointed the former Illinois Governor will remain behind bars.
Wife Patti Blagojevich spoke hours after a federal appeals court threw out five of 18 convictions against her husband, who is serving a 14-year prison sentence for election fraud. The court said Blagojevich should be retried on the five counts, which could lead to a shorter sentence. The 58-year-old Blagojevich has been imprisoned since March 2012. When asked if he’ll appeal, attorney Leonard Goodman said he’ll urge the former governor to “fight on.”
