(Springfield, IL) — Democrats in the state Senate are attempting to salvage parts of the year-long budget passed by the General Assembly in May. Lawmakers voted yesterday to override Governor Rauner’s vetoes on five budget bills that would fund vital state services including the state police and public health. The House now has 15 days to do the same.
