(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois Senate is back in Springfield, facing the continuing budget crisis. Lawmakers in the upper chamber face a vote on the one-month budget sent over by the House last week that they already approved once, but that now contains a month’s worth of money for state workers’ paychecks. The Senate also has until tomorrow to decide whether to try to override Governor Rauner’s veto of the year-long spending plan passed by the General Assembly — one that is admittedly four-billion-dollars out of balance.
