(Springfield, IL) — Thousands of state workers are set to receive their first full paycheck of the fiscal year even without a budget in place. Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger’s office said they are issuing checks for around 68-hundred employees today despite an ongoing legal battle. State Attorney General Lisa Madigan has asked the Illinois Supreme Court to help decide the state payroll situation.
