(Springfield, IL) — Under a bill that has passed the General Assembly, there will be no more giant severance packages for community college employees. Lawmakers were prompted to act after the board of the College of DuPage voted to pay 763-thousand-dollars to end the contract of President Robert Breuder three years early. The law heading to Governor Rauner’s desk would limit severance packages to one year of pay and benefits and would limit the length of personnel contracts to three years.
