The Illinois House approved a one month state budget that includes money to pay state workers in July. The vote fell along party lines, with Democrats supporting the measure to fund critical state services and pay employees thru the end of the month. Republican State Representative Ron Sandack argued the temporary budget is unbalanced and doesn’t help the state out of it’s fiscal crisis.
The Senate, which isn’t due back in Springfield until next week, will have to approve the amendment that makes sure state workers get paid.
