Republicans in the Illinois House are pushing legislation to ensure paychecks go to state employees even without a new state Fiscal Year 2016 Budget in place. State Representative Avery Bourne says the bill they are pushing would ensure that state employees get their next paycheck.
Without a budget by July 15th, the state will be unable to make payroll for employees in numerous agencies, so the bill proposed would address that part of the budget crisis.
