(St. Louis, MO) — Jedd Gyorko notched a game-tying homer in the seventh inning and then plated the go-ahead run in the ninth as the Padres took down the Cardinals, 2-1 at Busch Stadium. Andrew Cashner threw six-plus innings of one-run ball for San Diego, and Joaquin Benoit picked up the win in relief. Craig Kimbrel notched his 21st save in the Padres’ second straight win. Jason Hayward scored the Cardinals’ only run in the fifth. Reliever Trevor Rosenthal took the loss for St. Louis, which is stuck in a season-high four-game losing streak.
