After the initial consolidation order in 2012, the official list of new regions and the officeholder elections last year, the Regional Office of Education #3 officially includes Montgomery and Christian counties as of yesterday. Julie Wollerman now serves as the Regional Superintendent for Bond, Christian, Effingham, Fayette and Montgomery counties and says after a lot of hard work it feels good to finally be at this point.
Wollerman and the new Assistant Regional Superintendent Marchelle Kassebaum, who had previously served as the Regional Superintendent of Christian and Montgomery, got to work immediately after the order for the new regional offices which helped to make the transition a smooth one.
Despite the addition of two counties to the regional office, many of the aspects of the office will stay the same. And we will talk more with Wollerman about that tomorrow on Newscenter.
