(Springfield, IL) — Governor Bruce Rauner is denying lawmakers and others a salary increase. He’s dumping a measure that would have provided cost-of-living increases for legislators, elected constitutional officers and agency directors. Rauner said Illinois lawmakers are already among the highest paid in the country, earning 68- to 95-thousand-dollars a year, plus per diem payments and mileage reimbursements.
