(St.Louis, MO) — Tyler Flowers’ solo homer in the top of the 11th lifted the White Sox to a 2-1 win over the Cardinals in St.Louis. Chris Sale struck out 12 to join Pedro Martinez as the only pitchers to fan at least 10 in eight straight games in MLB history. Randal Grichuk homered for St.Louis, which saw its six-game winning streak come to an end. Miguel Socolovich took the loss in the opener of the two-game set.
