The National Weather Service in St. Louis says we need to be ready for another round of heavy rain to move in. The National Weather Service says the weather pattern is again setting up the possibility of excessive rainfall across the region over the next few days. And, while the NWS adds the heavier rain is still almost a day away, it appears that much of central and eastern Missouri into southern Illinois may average two to three inches of rainfall from late tonight into Wednesday night. And, additional rainfall may persist Thursday south of Interstate 70—with the heaviest rain rain Thursday expected to be south of our area. The NWS also warns that with saturated ground throughout the area from the recent wet weather, this rainfall could pose a threat for flash flooding.
As for our forecast, We have a chance of showers and thunderstorms for today and tonight with a high today of 85 and a low tonight of 66. We have a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday with a high of 78 and a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday night with a low of 64. There is still a chance of showers and thunderstorms into Thursday and for every day over the next five days.
