(Springfield, IL) — The Illinois Comptroller’s Office has saved half a million dollars and plans to give it back to the state. Comptroller Leslie Munger says the savings have come from consolidating operations and cross training employees. She adds that her budget will be ten-percent smaller next year. Munger was appointed by Governor Rauner after Judy Baar Topinka’s death. She will have to run for re-election next year.
