Another day of heavy rain looks to be on the way for the area. Storms rolled thru the area last night, bringing some thunder, lightning and rain thru the region—but it looked as if the stronger and more severe storms stayed to our north or south last night. Now, a whole different weather pattern is set for today. We are looking at much cooler temperatures for today with a high of just 76. But, we will see showers and thunderstorms throughout the day today and could see some heavy rain—and there is a flash flood watch in effect for the area until 7 pm. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says moderate to occasional heavy rain can be expected again today which may cause additional flash flooding—especially in areas that are already rain soaked.
But, once all this moisture moves thru we will be in for one of our best Saturdays in quite some time. We are looking at mostly sunny skies on Saturday with a high of 76 and then mostly clear on Saturday night with a low of 58. Rain does come back into the forecast on Sunday.
