(Herrin, IL) — Democratic legislators in Illinois are giving a thumbs down to a short-term budget deal. Lawmakers and Governor Rauner have less than nine days until a deadline that may call for a state government shutdown. Democrats have passed an unbalanced budget. But the governor’s team is not saying what will be done about the proposed spending plan this week.
